Prayer To Know One’s Vocation |
Lord, my God and my loving Father, you have made me to know you, to love you, to serve you, and thereby to find and to fulfill my deepest longings. I know that you are in all things, and that every path can lead me to you.
But of them all, there is one especially by which you want me to come to you. Since I will do what you want of me, I pray you, send your Holy Spirit to me: into my mind, to show me what you want of me; into my heart, to give me the determination to do it, and to do it with all my love, with all my mind, and with all of my strength right to the end. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen |
We begin and end all of our meetings by praying for vocations.
SERRAN PRAYER FOR VOCATIONSO God, Who wills not the death of a sinner Amen |
PRAYER FOR THE PERSEVERANCE OF VOCATIONS
O God, You have constituted Your only-begotten Son
Supreme and eternal Priest
For the glory of Your majesty
And the salvation of mankind:
Grant that those whom He has chosen ministers
And dispensers of His mysteries
May be found faithful
In fulfilling the ministry
They have received.
Prayer in Support of the Cloistered Life
We praise and thank you for those sisters and brothers who have embraced the gift of the cloistered and monastic life.
Their hidden presence in our world is indispensable to the Church’s life and mission.
As we celebrate Pro Orantibus Day, let us honor the holiness and the glory of the Blessed Virgin. May she intercede so that many young people might dedicate themselves entirely to prayer and to living on what they receive from Divine Providence.
May all of us always be mindful of the spiritual and material needs of those who commit their lives to seeking God by fixing their gaze on those things which are eternal.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
Prayer for the Archdiocese for the Military Services
Almighty God and Father, look with love upon our men and women in uniform and protect them in their time of need. Give them health and stability and allow them to return to their loved ones whole and unshaken. Be with their families and sustain them in these uncertain times.
Grant strength and peace of mind to the Veterans who have given their best for the country they love. Support them in infirmity and in the fragility of old age. Teach us to remember their sacrifices and to express our gratitude.
Manifest your tender care to those in the Military Academies who prepare for future service and to those who serve our Nation far from home. Teach us to remember the sacrifices of those whose efforts contribute to ensuring our way of life.
Bless and multiply the priests who minister to the faithful of the Archdiocese for the Military Services. Reward their generosity and keep them faithful.
Hear us as we present our prayers to You though Christ our Lord.
Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
